Getting a home with THCH
THCH wishes to ensure that its housing stock is used effectively to meet the housing needs of residents of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
In particular, we wish to ensure that accommodation is allocated to those in greatest need, whilst facilitating mobility for existing THCH tenants.
THCH works with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to assess local housing needs, and to determine how these can best be met.
THCH assists the Council in fulfilling its statutory duties to secure accommodation for people in housing need and therefore we do not have our own waiting lists to be rehoused by THCH.
Common Housing Register Partnership
THCH, the Council and a number of other Housing Associations have formed a partnership to operate a Housing List and offer all available homes to applicants on that list.
The Lettings Policy
The policy has been agreed by the Council and the Common Housing Register Partnership after consultation with residents and applicants in order to decide who should be offreed the accommodation.
Joining the Housing List
Anyone can apply to go on the list, unless the are under 18 (execpt in special circumstance), are subject to immigration control or are considered unsuitable because of unacceptable behaviour.
Forms can be downloaded form www.towerhamlets.gov.uk
THCH residents can also collect a form from any of our offices or by calling 020 7780 3070.
