The Choice Based Mobility (CBM) Scheme is an initiative that helps households move out of London to properties across England.  Other landlords notice the Housing Moves Scheme of available properties and this information is shared with households looking to move.

Most properties available through CBM tend to be sheltered accommodation, however, on occasion general needs housing is available.

Some people wrongly assume sheltered housing is a form of residential care, however, this is not the case.  Most sheltered schemes is simply housing for older people in specially allocated schemes, sometimes with a warden or manager on hand to visit residnets and deal with emergencies.

Who can apply

The CBM initiative is open to households living in Council and Housing Association housing in Greater London where at least one member of the household is aged 55 or above.
