The Step Up Strategy is about:
- Bringing communities together
- Supporting residents into employment and training
- Working with younger resdients
THCH, Spitalfields HA and Gateway HA are working together to build on the exisitng work of the three organisations in improving relations between communities, younger and older residents and reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB).
Examples of what we have done:
- Running a STAR in the Community Awards scheme to recognise the voluntary efforts of local people
- Worked to reduce ASB
- Worked at bringing the diverse communities of Tower Hamlets together to celebrate cultural events
Please see the attached leaflet for more details or contact Muge Dindjer, the Community Development Coordinator who is working across all three organisations on 07949 059 087 or email muge.dindjer@thch.org.uk
Employment and Training Directory
We want to help support our residents into finding work or training and have put together the following booklet listing many of the agencies and services available in Tower Hamlets.
Start Your Own Business
With unemployment on the rise and records showing more and more young people out of work and seeking employment, THCH has, over the last few months, been publicising job brokerage details, training courses and various employment events through this newsletter, our website and our Facebook page.
One other alternative that residents might consider is to start your own business. The following document lists a number of agencies that may be of help.
