Following recommendations from Martin Cave's review of social housing "Every Tenant Matters" in June 2007, the National Tenant Voice (NTV) is being set up by the Dept. for Communities & Local Government to give social housing tenants in England a voice and access to expertise at a national level.

The Government aims for tenants to have a greater influence over the services they receive.

The NTV's structure will include a Council of 50 tenants and will act as a sounding board on housing policy issues.  The aim of the NTV is to reflect the diversity of social housing tenants, it will have on it tenants from local authorities, housing associations, housing co-ops, TMOs and leaseholders of social landlords.

Recruitment is now taking place - if you are interested in finding out more, please visit www.hays.com/jobs/ntv or call 0800 917 7396.

The closing date for applications is 16 October 2009.
