THCH have teamed up with the Aspire Foundation to create a social enterprise business employing local residents to provide important services on our estate.  The business is to be called Aspire Community Works.

Aspire Community Works will be employing local people to provide key services such as gardening, the cleaning of community facilities and the removal of large items of rubbish from our estates.

Social Enterprises are business set up to ensure that profits are recycled back into the community.  The Aspire Foundation develop and support social enterprises to provide employment and training opportunities.

The project will not only offer work and training, but also in time, will be able to support residents who want to set up their own business.

THCH Director of Housing, David Eatwell, says "THCH is proud of our standards of estate management and we are excited by the opportunity that working with the Aspire Foundation offres, and to ensure that we can maintain our high standards plus help train and employ local residents to provide that service to their homes".

Director of Aspire Foundation, Own Jarvis syas "Aspire is very excited about this pioneering social enterprise.  We are looking forward to working alongside the community, hearing their ideas and finding new opportunities to grow the business.

The model has huge potential and in time, could work in any borough or in any city across the country.  We would like to thank the CLG for their far-sighted support in encouraging this idea to become a reality.

Over time, the new enterprise - Aspire Community Works - hopes to inspire and support local residents interested in starting up their own enterprise or back ideas that support the community".

THCH and Aspire Foundation are now busy finalising the contract documents so we can start recruiting local [people into real jobs over the newxt few weeks and months.
