A specialist charity working with and for deaf and the hard of hearing, Deafroots, are offering FREE training and a FREE Employment Advisory Service including help with CV writing, job searching, writing personal and supporting statements and interview skills training.

Street League - Changing Lives Through Football
Street League is a charity organisation that works with 16-25 year olds that are not in employment, education or training. Using football as a tool for engagement, they run free weekly Street Football sessions in venues across London, where their Coach Educators build rapport, get to know the participants and, along with football, work on transferrable skills such as time-keeping, motivation, communication, confidence and team work.
Once players have been introduced through the football sessions, they are given the opportunity to join the Academy Programme. The Academy runs for 8 weeks; Monday to Thursday (9am-1pm) and participants will complete three accredited courses. he Community Sports Leadership Award and two NOCN accredited courses in employability and personal development.
The next session will be held at Mile End Stadium on 30 January at 2pm.

The Road 2 Work Project
The Rooted Forum provide a FREE service for 16-25 year olds living in Tower Hamlets offering interview skills training, help improving your CV, job search advice, help building your confidence and motivation.

The City of London Business Traineeship Programme
This is a programme aimed at Tower Hamlets school-leavers who are in their final year of 'A' levels (Year 13) and have a minimum of grade B in English and Maths at GCSE and keen to work in the financial services, IT, or legal sectors or in business administration.
The placements last between 6-13 weeks are are paid at the going rate for the job you do.

Leaders Through Sport
The Leaders Through Sport Programme is a unique & innovative programme for young people to develop leadership, personal development & life skills by using sport as the teaching tool. The programme has 4 units of work which comprise of:
- Community Sports Leaders Award Level (CSLA L2)
- Personal development Workshops
- Community Project
- Information, advice & guidance (IAG)
The young people will need to attend one day a week for a period of 10 weeks; however they may require to do additional volunteering to complete the programme. Upon completion they will receive a accredited CSLA L2 certificate and opportunity to continue their volunteering.

With unemployment on the rise and records showing more and more young people out of work and seeking employment, THCH has, over the last few months, been publicising job brokerage details, training courses and various employment events through this newsletter, our website and our Facebook page.

- Support Health Trainers to deliver healthy lifestyle activities
- Receive extensive training such as the RSPH Level 2 Understanding Health, CIEH Level 2 Healthier Foods and Special Diets, accredited ASDAN CVQ qualification Level 2 or 3 and other training around health to develop your knowledge in the health care sector

Free ESOL classes for Somali and Bangladeshi Women
Bethnal Green based training organisation, Praxis, will be holding free ESOL classes centred on health issues for Somali and Bangladeshi women starting on 14 June 2012.
The course will last 5 weeks and be held every Thursday between 10am and 12noon.
Basic English is required and the small classes will provide a informal structure covering:
- learning healthcare vocabulary
- Improving your English
- Meeting new people
- Gaining confidence
The next assessment and enrolment day is on 18 May 2012 at the Praxis Office in Potts Street, Bethnal Green, E2 0EF.
