With your input and feedback, we want to create environments that reflect the pride and care of the communities we serve.
What to expect from your cleaners
Our cleaning team carry out different cleaning jobs throughout the communal spaces in your block. Below, you can find details about what they do and when they do it. This is the cleaning standard you should expect.
Ground floor
Daily:
- Sweep and remove litter.
- Clean and dry floors.
- Vacuum and spot-clean carpets and entrance mats.
- Sanitize and disinfect frequently touched surfaces (e.g. door handles, buttons).
Monthly:
- Polish all doors (internal and external).
- Dust and wipe walls and surfaces (up to 2m high) such as signs, mirrors.
Annually:
- Deep clean hard floors/shampoo carpeted areas in bin store rooms.
Staircases
Daily:
- Visual inspection and litter picking.
- Checking communal corridors and staircases for items that are fire hazards/safety issues.
Weekly:
- Sweep, mop, and spot-clean hard floors.
- Vacuum carpeted stairs.
- Disinfect handrails and banisters.
Quarterly:
- Deep clean carpeted stairs.
- Dust and wipe walls, skirtings, and ledges up to full height.
External areas
- Sweep walkways and entrances.
- Inspect bin storage areas for safety and cleanliness.
- Clean external furniture and signage.
- Remove litter and debris from car parks, bike racks, adjacent garden parks and building exteriors.

Pressure wash hard surfaces (e.g. pathways and external landings).

Remove graffiti and sticky substances.
Bin management
Daily:
- Check and rotate bins as required.
- Clear debris from bin areas, rubbish chutes and collection points.
Quarterly:

Deep clean or jet wash bin storage areas to prevent odours and pests.
Routine inspections
The cleaning team will perform regular inspections of all communal areas to ensure they meet our standards. Any issues identified will be raised by them and actioned by the appropriate staff.
