Tower Hamlets Community Housing – anti-slavery statement

Tower Hamlets Community Housing (THCH) is a registered social landlord and a registered charity operating exclusively in the London borough of Tower Hamlets.

The THCH vision is “to work with residents to deliver well managed local housing and community services through a flourishing financially strong organisation.”

In compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, THCH is committed to understanding modern slavery risks and we take steps to ensure that there is no form of slavery in our organisation and we expect the same commitment and standards from our supply chain partners and other businesses we work with.

Procurement

Our Corporate Procurement Policy has been developed and is often reviewed for specific areas of spend, for example in development, repairs, IT and commodities. Our policy ensures we engage with the best businesses, and where possible, create partnerships to deliver improvements in services through new and existing arrangements, to ensure the best value for money is found.

THCH endeavours to enter partnerships with those who are ethical and comply with all legislation including the Modern Slavery Act.

We internally review the supply chain to evaluate human trafficking and slavery risks in both our own business and of all parts of the supply chain.

Commitment

We fully comply with the provisions for the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and have an open culture where if slavery or trafficking issues occur, they are reported through the correct processes.

Our Board of Directors is committed to preventing slavery across all parts of the organisation and throughout our supply chain. Training is provided to staff where relevant and we continue to assure staff and residents that it is part of our business plan.
