A message from our Chief Executive

Dear Residents
Some of you will know that I joined the organisation in January, over the ten weeks I have been trying to understand the organisation, the things that we do well and also the things that we should be better at.
Many residents have been extremely welcoming and invited me into their homes and shared their stories, this has been hugely valuable.
I understand that there are things we need to get better at, this includes being easier for residents to contact and get queries resolved, communal cleaning and value for money from services charges - I want to be clear that I recognise that we need to do better.
These are areas we have already started to work on, of course these things take time, however I hope residents start to feel their experience of engaging with THCH and living in one of our properties is starting to improve.
As an organisation, over the last few years we’ve been very focussed on building safety. We have an annual rental income of £15million per year, over the last 3 years we have spent over £10million on fire safety works, the safety of our residents will always come first, however we recognise it’s important that we get the balance right for all of our residents. The last few years, with the pandemic, lockdown and increase in cost of living has been hard on many of our residents - we want to play our part as a good landlord who gets things right for its residents, particularly when times are already hard.
Over the course of this week, myself and all colleagues from THCH have been out door knocking, we’re ‘Here to Hear’: we’re listening and want to work to improve things. I look forward to meeting some of you during the walk arounds.
Best wishes
Anita
