Ground-breaking fire remediation project begins at Claremont Court

We’ve started a new ground-breaking fire remediation project at Claremont Court. The scheme is the one of the first in the country to use the new PAS9980 methodology.
The PAS9980 standard was developed by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in January 2022, as a new code of practice for managing and reducing fire risk in high-rise residential buildings. THCH’s Claremont Court is the one of the first to adopt this more comprehensive and holistic guidance.
Anna Sargeant, Executive Director of Assets & Investments said:
It’s great to be at the forefront of the pioneering project at Claremont Court. We know our residents have been waiting a long time for the remediation works to start, so we’re delighted to be able to use the new PAS9980 methodology to give them the peace of mind that they live in a safe and secure home.
Claremont Court was built in 2010 and is home to 45 leaseholders. The £3 million project is being funded by developers, Hill, to ensure costs are not at the expense of residents. The remediation project will remove any combustible material, install fire cavity barriers, and replace the external copper cladding. It is expected to complete in November 2023.
* Update 17 April: we have corrected an error that previously stated that the completion date was Spring 2024.
