Proudly supporting Pride Month 2023
Every year, Pride Month takes place in June as an opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride, highlighting the movement for LGBTQ+ rights and celebrating its culture.
June was originally declared Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which was a series of protests by members of the gay community in Manhattan in New York, during June of 1969. The riots were response to police raids and violence against the community.
Pride is a time to celebrate diversity and honour the progress made towards equality. It also serves as a reminder of the work needed to ensure that everyone is treated with respect.
We’re holding talks and activities for our staff to educate and celebrate the experiences of those within the LGBTQ+ community. By supporting and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, we hope to create a welcoming and safe space for people to celebrate their authentic selves.

We’d encourage everyone to get involved in the celebrations. Whether that’s going to local events, supporting LGBTQ+ owned-businesses, or educating yourself about the history and ongoing challenges faced by the community.
Let’s stand together and promote love, acceptance, and equality for all members of the community. Being proud in this way is a daily choice - not just a once-a-year event.
