Here to Hear: putting our residents at the heart of what we do

To create meaningful change, we must fully understand the problems we want to solve. As part of our Here to Hear initiative, we’ve been visiting our residents to hear first-hand about their experiences, and where we can make improvements.

Here to Hear has encouraged all staff, including our CEO and Board Members, to go out into our community and meet with the people living in our homes - because after all, our residents know best.

Anita Khan, our CEO said: “We’ve gained a fantastic insight into what the priorities are for our community. We’re listening. We’ve heard what’s good, and what could be better. We want to tackle the issues that our residents have told us about, so that Tower Hamlets can be a better place for everyone.”

After visiting over 300 residents, we know there is a strong sense of community, but we’ve also heard concerns about cleaning, repairs, parking and anti-social behaviour.

The insight we’ve gained will help us to design and implement a new service improvement plan focused on putting our residents at the heart of what we do.

Anita said: “We’d like to thank each of our residents for taking the time to chat and, at times, welcoming us into their homes. We’re committed to improving what we do so that we can create places people are proud to call home.”

Here to Hear is here to stay. We’ll continue to regularly visit our residents to stay up to date with what matters to them.
