Faisal Butt

Interim Chair of the Board

Faisal was appointed to the Board in December 2015. 

Faisal is the Senior Operations Manager at Legal and General Homes and has previously been the Director of Employment, Skills and Homelessness at The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham. Faisal brings significant experience in terms of housing strategy and policy. He has worked in the social housing sector for over 12 years and has previously been Head of Housing Strategy at Camden, Housing Strategy and Partnerships Manager at Tower Hamlets and is currently Chair of the CIH London Board. 

Committees: Development Committee (Vice Chair) and Nominations and Remunerations Committee. 

Carlo Gibbs

Carlo was appointed to the Board in October 2014; he currently chairs THCH’s Operations Committee. 

Carlo is a resident of Tower Hamlets and a former Tower Hamlets Councillor who brings experience at a strategic level to THCH, having previously chaired the council’s Audit and Human Resources Committees. Carlo is an experienced corporate communications, social responsibility and policy development specialist.

Mark Thrasher

Mark was appointed to the Board in May 2016. 

Mark is currently the Executive Director of Finance at Aspire Housing and brings a wealth of finance, business planning, audit and risk management experience to THCH. Mark has worked in the social housing sector for over 20 years as a senior executive and has previously been Deputy Chief Executive at Wulvern Housing, Assistant Director of Resources at Chester and District Housing Trust and Head of Finance at Dane Housing.

Jennifer Simnett

Jenny Simnett is an experienced Director and NED with significant success in transforming strategic focus, operational and people performance within diverse national and global organisations. 

She brings a blend of commercial and strategic business development skills combined with organisation development and people strategy skills. She started her career at Reuters’ financial services in UK followed by overseas postings to Sweden, Denmark and Mexico (covering Mexico, Central America and Cuba). 

Building on this early career in sales & marketing management, she has added an MBA, an MSc in Organisational Psychology, PRINCE2, Six Sigma, Change Management and IoD corporate governance qualifications. She has worked in consulting roles for Huthwaite International, the training organisation and home of SPIN selling; Cendant Mobility on international relocation; and Great Place to Work on employee engagement. 

For the past 11 years, Jenny has been self-employed as an interim professional in transformation and change with expertise in HR and OD. She has worked for diverse organisations such as British Gas, London Pensions Fund Authority, London Underground, Luton Airport, Heathrow Airport, Surrey County Council and Great Place to Work Institute. She is also Vice Chair of Relate West Surrey and a trustee for Carer Support Elmbridge, as well as a past trustee and Director for NW Surrey Samaritans. 

Jenny joined the Board of THCH in October 2017.

Clare Harrison 

Clare was appointed to the Board in December 2015. 

Clare is a Senior Policy and Programme Officer at Greater London Authority 

Clare was previously the Councillor for the St Peter’s Ward in Bethnal Green and has previous experience of being a Governor at a local primary school

Charles Moran

Charles was appointed to the Board in October 2014. 

Charles is a Chartered Town Planner and brings knowledge of development, planning and legal experience to the Board as well as first-hand experience of urban development issues. He has worked on a range of projects including various housing regeneration schemes in East London and the Thames Gateway. Charles is also the Secretary of the Shoreditch Conservation Advisory Committee and a member of THCH New Homes Board.

Karanjit Randhawa

Karanjit has over 14 year’s experience in Financial Services, working across a variety of strategic risk management roles within blue chip organisations. 

Karanjit currently works within a senior risk role at the Financial Conduct Authority managing complex risks in the financial services sector. Karanjit is a member of the Institute of Risk Management and brings senior level risk management, audit and governance skills to his role as Non-Executive Director to help add to and complement the challenge and decision making at the THCH Board.

Steve Winney 

Resident Board member 

Steve was appointed to the Board in July 2018 

Steve represents local residents, and is THCH’s Health and Safety Champion.

Estera Gliwska 

Resident Board member 

Estera was appointed to the Board in February 2019. 

Estera represents local residents and is a qualified charted accountant.

Kevin Brady

Kevin is a councillor representing the St Peters Ward in Bethnal Green.

Kevin brings a local councillor perspective.

Kevin was appointed in September 2019.

Shad Chowdhury

Shad is a councillor representing the Spitalfields and Banglatown Ward.

Shad brings a local councillor perspective.
